New Zealand : Waipoua Forest

<< Previous Photo

Our last few days in New Zealand have been spent slowly working our way down the western side of the Northern Penninsula, visiting beaches and these huge rainforests.  "Tane Mahuta" is the Lord of the Forest and is the largest kauri tree by volume in New Zealand.  It is a true monster.  It is over 1,500 years old with a circumference of over 14 meters. Look for Brennan dwarfed in front of the tree. It is hard to leave New Zealand now.  We have come to really love this small country that reminds us so much of home!  But it is time to press onward .... to Hawaii!
