The little town of Akaroa is located out on the Banks Penninsula just east of Christchurch.  The town is well worth the visit and is filled with all sorts of shops and galleries.  The summit drive however is what this trip is all about. This windy and steep 50 km drive takes you along some of the best scenery in all of New Zealand. It shouldn't be missed!
