We were rewarded with tranquil waters and stunning reflections by getting an early start on our drive to Milford Sound. We were extremely fortunate to have sunny weather as well.  Milford Sound gets an annual rainfall of 7 to 9 meters.  The drive was about120 km long and took three hours to complete, even with Brian's superior driving skills.
