New Zealand : South Island

<< Previous Photo

We managed to hit leave the rain behind on the North Island and caught the ferry south.  We were welcomed by blue sky and sunshine as we made our way across the island through the vineyards.  The region here is famous for its white wine and Southern Alps (background). We changed our travel plans at the last minute to take advantage of a good weather forecast and bolt over to the west side of the island for better views of the mountains and glaciers.
