Welcome to Fat Turtle

Fat Turtle Travel is the family website of the McKinney family of Calgary, Alberta. We use it to share our experiences with family and friends. It is also a convenient place to pass along information and insights into our travels to other family oriented travellers. The information we pass along is different from other conventional travel sites. First of all we haven't gone everywhere (yet) and haven't seen everything (yet). The information we present is much more informal in nature, by way of our actual travel journals and photo diaries. As a result, our accounts represent true first hand observations which can often be very useful when planning a future trip. On the flip side however, they are coloured by our personal preferences and the conditions at the time we visited various places. This is all to say, you should use the information we present as a guideline and take everything with a grain of salt. Just because we had a good or bad experience at a particular restauraunt, doesn't mean you will. We hope you enjoy the site as much as we have enjoyed building it.
